My 2008 highlights
As my friends and I contemplated 2008 on New Year’s Eve, I realised it’s not been the most active of years. It started with a picnic at Kirribilli with Elle, and ended in drunken chaos at our house two days ago - the good kind of chaos, mind you.
Anyway, I though I’d write a summary of all the things I loved about 2008, so here goes, in no particular order.
- Picnics at Kirribilli
- Travelling to Tangalooma in Queensland for my friend Lance’s wedding
- Camping with my best friends in Huskisson
- Visiting Tasmania for the first time
- Staying at the Hydro Majestic
- Seeing Death Cab, unplugged, intimate and free of charge :)
- Seeing several other great bands in the flesh, including Emilaina Torrini, The Kooks and more
- The wedding of the gorgeous Marcus and Camila
- Hitting New Zealand with my Mum and Elle
- Recording a second EP with my band Fuzu
- An awesome Halloween party
- A little road trip to the south coast of New South Wales
- Completeing a photography course, to which I submitted this to the end of term exhibition
- An brilliant New Year’s Eve party
There have been lowlights, too, most notably professionally, where I spent a year at BigPond doing nothing but get frustrated by some of the worst business decisions I have ever come across in my life. but I don’t want to dwell on that, since I have a new job to start in 2009 at SBS - a great TV channel here in Australia. I can’t wait.
I’m looking forward to 2009 - a new job, a trip to India, and more work with the band. It should be an absolutely brilliant end to this first decade of the millennium.
